Ernesto Luna



Ernesto is a native Spanish speaker who was born in the Dominican Republic.  His family immigrated to the United States when he was three years old.  He grew up in Brooklyn, NY and spent his high school years in Providence, RI.  Ernesto is a first-generation college graduate.  Prior to becoming a lawyer Ernesto worked as a Providence Police Officer and retired as a Detective.  In 1997 upon graduating from law school he received a commission as an attorney in the United States Coast Guard JAG Corp where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant Commander.  After leaving the Coast Guard in 2005, Ernesto served as a Special Assistant Attorney General in the State of Rhode Island.  He has been a public defender in the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit for Florida.  Prior to joining our team, he worked for the State of Florida as a Supervising Attorney/Lead trial attorney for the Children’s Legal Services at the Department of Children and Families.   Ernesto has over 20 years legal experience.
