Christopher Craun is an experienced trial attorney, with an extensive number of jury trials as lead and only counsel. He has handled all manner of civil and criminal cases in administrative proceedings, county court, circuit court, federal court, and the district court of appeal. He has practiced law in Florida in excess of 30 years.
After graduating from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Psychology in 1985, Mr. Craun received his Master of Public Health degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1989. He completed his education by receiving his Juris Doctorate degree from The Cumberland School of Law of Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama in 1990.
In his prior business law experience he has represented both sole proprietorships, corporations, physicians, physician groups, assisted living facilities, internet technology companies, and employment recruitment firms. Additionally, he provided these entities with risk avoidance and mitigation strategies.
Mr. Craun’s prior criminal law experience included State and Federal cases from outset to jury trial and subsequent appeal. His jury trial experience includes the use of and challenge to scientific evidence (which includes DNA and fiber evidence when it was in its infancy), physical evidence, and circumstantial evidence. His overall experience ranged from Juvenile Delinquency to post conviction relief on Death Row.
He is a former Assistant State Attorney who was trained under the tutelage of members of the same team which tried and convicted famed serial killer, Ted Bundy. He prosecuted serious felonies which included drug trafficking, robbery, murder, complex white-collar crime, and violations of the RICO Act.
He has been a certified law enforcement instructor at North Florida Community College, in Madison, Florida, and was an adjunct certified instructor at Florida Gateway College, in Lake City, Florida for 18 years.
Outside of the office he enjoys cooking, guitar, piano, painting, mountain biking, sailing, camping, the outdoors, home renovations, motorcycles, and restoration of anything that contains an internal combustion engine.
He and his lovely wife, Angelique, share six adult children, a son-in-law, and one teenage computer wiz. As of yet, they have no grandchildren, but are hopeful!
